
This award was created in memory of Tom Saling and Bob Chance, two early direct mail pioneers who pushed companies to do a better job of advertising their services and capabilities. Tom was a charter member of the Southwest Mail Producers Guild, both he and Bob served the organization in virtually
every capacity. When they died within a few short months of each other, the Board felt it appropriate to pay tribute by reminding everyone how they pushed constantly for self-promotion in the industry.
Each year, the Chance-Saling Award is given to the company that, in the view of the judges, has best demonstrated their ability to promote their products and services. Judging will be based on creativity, quality of the product, business objectives, results attained and the overall professionalism
of the presentation.
